Margaret T. G. Burroughs
Margaret T. G.Burroughs [1915-2010] visual artist, writer, poet, printmaker, educator, activist, art organizer, co-founder of Dusable Museum of African American History + South Side Community Arts Center, Mrs. Chicago Black Renaissance.
Margaret Taylor Goss Burroughs was born in St. Rose, Louisiana. At the age of 5, she moved to Chicago with her parents. She held a B.A., and M.A. in education and had an honorary doctorates degree. Margaret dedicated her life’s work to her people.
