Elizabeth Catlett [1915-2012] sculptor, printmaker, educator, activist, ceramicist, painter, ally, Mrs. Legacy.
One printmaker that we all share a love for is Elizabeth Catlett.
Catlett was born in Washington, D.C. to parents who worked in education and was the grandchild of African Americans who were freed from chattel slavery in the U.S. A Howard University graduate, her career spanned more than 70 years.
